As a valued member of the Aegis Therapies team, Matthew Shea enjoys his role as a rehab program coordinator. In his role, Matthew is responsible for the success of the rehab programs in his facility. He encourages, motivates and empowers his staff with the knowledge they need to be successful therapists. Matthew focuses on customer service as well as treating his own patients as a physical therapist.

Matthew’s creativity and passion for helping his patients are traits that allow him to excel. “I was able to modify a donated wheelchair to fit a resident who had been in a Geri Chair for more than six months,” he explains. “He now has more comfort and greater independence. He continues to work in therapy on wheelchair mobility. Every day he expresses his gratitude and appreciation for being given his ‘freedom.’” 

Matthew also believes in cultivating loyal, motivated, dedicated staff. He is always available to assist his coworkers or help them problem solve. He enjoys his role in assisting with the development of rehab programs. Collaborating with other rehab program coordinators is also part of his day-to-day routine. With the education opportunities offered by Aegis, Matthew will continue to develop his skills and knowledge to help his patients and staff.
