- Evansville Association for the Blind receives $500 grant from Golden LivingCenter
Nov. 18, 2009
The Evansville Association for the Blind has received a $500
grant from Golden Living Woodbridge, a long-term health care and
rehabilitation center. Judy Kerth, Woodbridge admissions
coordinator, said the business gives a grant to a local
organization every year. She said employees were moved by a
"Community comment" column about the association published in the
Courier & Press in September.

- Volunteers have essential role in hospice care
Nov. 17, 2009
Jamie Wagner, 56, Exeter Township, got in a comfortable position
to push 91-year-old Lena Snyder's wheelchair. Suddenly, there were
smiles and laughter as if the duo were off to the races or at a
night at the opera or simply up to some monkey business. Jamie
Wagner, Exeter Township, is a hospice volunteer who regularly
visits Lina Snyder, 91, at Golden Living in Exeter Township. They
share a laugh as they make their rounds around the nursing
facility.

- Seniors, Staff and Family Members Walked More than 23,816 miles During Aegis Therapies’ First Nationwide Walk Your Age Events

Delafield, Wisconsin, October 5, 2009 — To celebrate
Active Aging Week© September 21-27, Aegis Therapies hosted
their first ever Walk Your Age event on Monday, September 21. With
over 550 participating facilities, the event was a huge success.
Close to twenty thousand participants walked an astounding 50
million steps or 23,816 miles. The nationwide series of events were
held in conjunction with Golden LivingCenters and other nursing
homes and assisted living facilities serviced by Aegis
Therapies.

- Kathy Holland named Statewide Administrator of the Year by the South Dakota Health Care Association.

Fort Smith, AK - Kathy Holland, Executive Director of Golden
LivingCenter - Milbank in Milbank, South Dakota, was recently named
the Administrator of the Year by the South Dakota Health Care
Association. Kathy has been with Golden Living since 2006 when it
acquires Beverly Enterprises, Inc., and for 22 years prior to that
with Beverly Enterprieses, Inc. She has served as the
Executive Director at Milbank for the past 11 years.

FORT SMITH, Ark., July 30, 2009 — 60 Golden LivingCenters have
been selected by the American Health Care Association and the
National Center for Assisted Living (AHCA/NCAL) as recipients of
the AHCA/NCAL Step I and II Quality Awards this year. To be
selected for one of the independently judged awards, nursing homes
must show an extraordinary ongoing commitment to quality care for
their residents, as measured against specific criteria.
