John Derr Appointed to HHS Committee Advising on Implementation of Health IT
Fort Smith, Ark. - John Derr, Senior Vice President and Chief Technology Strategic Officer of Golden Living, has been appointed by the Department of Health and Human Services to the Health Information Technology (HIT) Standards Committee. This is one of two new federal advisory committees established by the American Recovery and Reinvestment Act of 2009.
The purpose of the committee is to bring together a wide diversity of key stakeholders to help guide the advancement of health IT as an integral part of health reform. The committee is charged with making recommendations on standards, implementation specifications, and certification criteria for the electronic exchange and use of health information.
